We had a great day celebrating Jared's 27th birthday on Saturday. I had planned an exciting weekend for us. We were going to go to Smith Mountain Lake to watch the sunset and spend the night in a lake inn. Then we were going to come back through Lynchburg and go to a big supper and then do cake. But that just didn't work out. It rained all weekend so what fun is the lake in the early spring on a rainy day. And the NASCAR race is in Martinsville so the lake inn was full. So much for a surprising birthday. Maybe we can do it on a not rainy day.
We had a great day at home. We slept in and then did some fun things like get coffee from Dunkin Doughnuts and go to the Golf Shop. Then we went out to eat at Cracker Barrel and had a wonderful meal. We came back home and Jared opened presents. He had a lot of cards from family and received several calls with birthday wishes. I got him some new T-shirts, khaki pants, the Titleist visor (his favorite gift) and a Chili's gift card. After presents we ate Dairy Queen ice cream cake. It was so good! It's been different than I'd hoped but it was a great day.
