We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We spent it traveling with my family. Dad, Mom, Jay, Sarah, Dayla, Jared, and I all loaded up in my parents' van and headed to Georgia and Alabama to spend time with our family. It was so much fun! We were packed in there. Dad put the travel carrier on top of the van to hold as much stuff as possible. I call it the Griswold because it is so tacky it reminds me of the family in Christmas Vacation. It helped though. Sarah and I sat in the very back with Dayla. It was a little cramp but we managed to do okay with our 14 hours in the van over 4 days.
We got up early Thursday morning and went to Georgia. We had so much food and went ahead and opened Christmas presents with my dad's family. We were all there - all 16 of us - the whole family! It was so much fun and such a special time together.
Then Friday afternoon we loaded up and headed to Alabama to eat some more good food and open more Christmas presents with my mom's family. And again we were all there - all 19 of us - the whole family! It was so great to have everyone together. No one was missing from either family. What a special and memorable time together.
Sunday morning we loaded up again, bringing back much more than we took down, and headed home. We got back around 3:00 after a fabulous time together. It is no surprise but little Dayla did awesome in the car. She talked to us some, slept, and ate when we stopped for gas. We were all so proud of her. It was wonderful having her with us this year. On our trip last year, Sarah spent most of the time sleeping and trying not to be nauseous! It was a great Thanksgiving with so much to be thankful for!!
