Preschool for our Two Year Old

There are so many options when it comes to educating children. This momma just wasn't quite ready to send our two year old off for preschool. There may come a time but it was not this year. I decided to do some "preschool" at home this year. It has been a hit with him so far. We are reading books, talking about colors, shapes, and numbers in our everyday life. Since he is only two, my goals this year are to work on his gross motor, fine motor, and problem solving skills as well as practicing sitting still for longer lengths of time. Our activities so far have included

• Play dough – for molding, squishing, and squeezing
• Markers – for drawing and creating
• Cups – to stack, unstuck, and build
• Hammer and golf tees – for pushing tees into play dough and hammering
• Coffee creamer can and Cheerios – to pinch and turn to fit in the little hole

I definitely plan to add to this list but after a couple of weeks we are getting into a groove. It's been great one on one time when our baby is sleeping!
