Each year we have a big birthday weekend. Dad's birthday is the end of February. My birthday is the beginning of March. Jared's birthday is the end of March. So we usually go home sometime during March to celebrate our birthdays with family.
This year was no different. Except it was the first birthday bash with my niece! She wasn't awake for supper and the party but she was the highlight of the rest of the day. She is growing and getting so big. After she went to bed...
The party started. Dad, Mom, Sarah, Jay, Jared, and I had a big supper. Dad grilled steaks and Mom fixed baked potatoes and salad. We all sat in the dining room, ate tons of food, and sat and talked. It was so much fun. With life being so busy it was fun to retell old stories and catch up on the new ones.
After supper we had a Dairy Queen ice cream cake. This has also become part of the tradition, thanks to my sister-in-law. We started getting these when Jay and Sarah got married and now it's just part of the birthday party. Mmmmmm is it good! After cake, all three of us opened presents! It was a fun weekend and good to be with family!
